# Filters and saved views

Narrowing a list, saving personal filters and display settings, and sharing a filtered URL.

## Filtering

`f`  focuses the filter input. `f` `f`  opens the full panel. `r`  clears everything.

Different filter dimensions combine with AND. Within a dimension, included choices match any selected value; **Is not** excludes selected values and can coexist with **Is**. Available dimensions:

- Status, priority and issue type
- Assignee, including unassigned
- Label and project
- Due date and Created, using presets, custom ranges, before/after, or is set/is not set
- Properties: being a sub-issue or having sub-issues

For example, set **Type is Bug**, **Priority is High or Urgent**, and **Label is not blocked**. This selects bugs with either priority while excluding those tagged blocked. Different dimensions narrow the result together.

Start-date and open-blocking-relation predicates are not currently provided. Inspect issue relations separately.

In the issue views, free-text search narrows local issue titles without a network round trip. The separate [Search page](https://docs.orneos.com/docs/search) also offers online Company scope.

### Filters live in the URL

The current filter state is encoded in the address bar. Three useful consequences:

- **Refreshing keeps your filters.** You do not lose a carefully built list to a reload.
- **Filter edits replace the current history entry.** The browser’s Back button does not undo each filter change; adjust or clear the filters directly.
- **A link carries the filters.** Send a colleague a filtered URL to inspect the same selection criteria. Their team, access and available data still determine the results; a link does not share ownership of your saved view.

## Saved views

A filter you will want again should be saved. Build it, then **Save view** and name it.

Saved views appear as tabs above the list, so switching between "Bugs to triage" and "This week" is one click rather than rebuilding a filter each time.

**Saved views belong to you within a team.** Saving one does not add it to teammates' tabs. On supported issue views, it saves display settings such as layout, grouping, ordering and visible properties alongside the filters. Search views also save the query, Company/Team scope and sort.

Use the star on a saved-view tab to add it to your sidebar Favorites. The **Hide custom saved views / Show custom saved views** control collapses or expands the custom tabs without deleting them. See [Favorites and navigation](https://docs.orneos.com/docs/settings#favorites-and-navigation).

A saved view stores your selection and supported display settings, not a snapshot of the results. Results depend on the data available when you open it.

### Suggested starting set

Four views cover most small teams:

| View | Filter |
|---|---|
| **Triage** | No priority, no assignee |
| **My open work** | Assignee = you, status ≠ done |
| **Blocked** | Label = blocked, maintained by your team; inspect blocking relations separately |
| **This week** | Due date within the next seven days |

Build these once and most of your list-making disappears.
